This week at Digital Growth Group LLC has been a quiet one.

Between my recovery and my wife’s recovery, neither of us is very mobile right now. Life has slowed — physically, mentally, and logistically. And while not much looks different on the outside, there has still been progress happening in small, meaningful ways.

I’ve spent time coloring in different recipe journals, writing recipes into them, and actually using the books the way they were intended to be used. That alone has been grounding. There’s something calming about slowing down enough to write recipes by hand, add notes, and put color into pages that were designed for exactly that purpose.

I’ve also been working on marketing the books I currently have in stock, learning how to show them in different stages — blank, partially filled, colored, and actively used. My author copies of the Quilt Coloring Recipe Journal haven’t arrived yet, which has been frustrating, but it’s also forced me to get more creative with what I do have. Learning how to market the usefulness of a product — not just the finished look — is part of the process.

One moment this week really mattered to me on a deeper level.

My very first KDP payout came through.

The amount itself isn’t important. What matters is that it was positive income, deposited into the business bank account, coming from an outside source. That matters more than any number. It’s confirmation that the system works — even slowly. And yes, the numbers carried a meaning for me personally. Not something I need to preach about — but something I noticed, received, and felt grateful for.

It felt like a quiet nod that I’m moving in the right direction.

🧵📘 Quilt Coloring Recipe Journal

One of the books I’m continuing to focus on is the Quilt Coloring Recipe Journal. This one means a lot to me.

It’s over 150 pages, filled with original quilt designs of my own, turned into coloring borders surrounding large, usable recipe cards. It blends creativity and function in a way that feels true to who I am.

This journal is meant to be written in, colored in, and lived with — not just shelved.

🖍️ Coloring Pencils I Use

If you enjoy the coloring aspect of these journals, these are the pencils I personally use and recommend. They work well on the paper and give good color without overpowering the page.

🎙 Podcast Boost

Even though I’m taking a short pause between seasons, Season One of the Digital Growth Group Podcast is complete and available to listen to. That season was about learning — learning to talk into a microphone, learning to record myself, and learning to show up imperfectly but consistently.

Season Two is being outlined now and will be more focused and intentional.

If you want to follow the business side of this journey — not just the recipes — you can find the podcast here:

This week reminded me that not all progress looks busy. Some progress looks like rest, reflection, small creative moments, and quiet confirmations that you’re still moving forward — even when your body says slow down.

I’m grateful for that today.
